Jon and Joanne. Awesome people. Kate and I love them. I knew Joanne since she was a nasty little freshman in high school. We grew up together in photography, enrolled and maxed out in Mr. Burrill’s photogrpahy class. We were trained in the black and white arts. And yes that name sounds familiar (director of the Milpitas Monster, duh!)

Anyhow, Joanne and Jon the dynamic duo, soon-to-be parents of two, are an awesome set of photographers and people. They spent the entire weekend with us in SF to shoot Kate and me for our post-nuptial shoot. We trekked up to Muir Woods, Treasure Island and kicked it in an awesome hotel room at the Carriage Inn. Cheesy wallpaper patterns and old brick walls are the best. Anyhow. I’m tired. And I just wanted to show these two wonderful people’s mugs.

The Vows I Wrote to Ignore

Saturday, August 8th, 2009

These are the vows I wrote to ignore. Because I know when I’m at the altar, staring at Kate through glassy eyes, my brain will pause and my heart will speak. In between huffs, puffs and sobs.

Kate, you’re the most awesome thing alive. The bad in me, you make good. The good in me, you make better. That’s why I vow to you my undying love and devotion.

I’ll always keep you smiling and laughing. Today. Tomorrow. And all the other tomorrows. Even when we’re old lolo and lola pops. I’ll provide for you like how you’ve always provided me. I’ll keep you comfortable. When you’re down I’ll give you those temple rubs you love. When you’re grumpy, I’ll help nap you. And I may not be a “mind-reader” but I will do anything and everything I can do to remind you that I love you.

We’ve had so many adventures together, through ugly times and good times, and we’re going to continue those. We’ll travel the world, spread good vibes and just love each other—no matter how thick things get. We’ve gone a long way together. We came this far and it only proves we can take it further. We’ll open a design studio/bakery. We’ve always shared the same dreams and now we’ll make more of them happen. Starting today.
