Getting Married

Thursday, July 2nd, 2009

Kate and I met in 7th grade woodshop class. She recalls a skinny, devishly, handsome boy walking into woodshop and swears I was glowing and had a halo around over my head. She instantly fell in love but she never conveyed her feelings for me until it was too late in the game.

So obviously I’m telling the story here. But we did meet in woodshop in 7th grade and new we connected. We were pretty tight since then. Our vibes complimented each other. It wasn’t until December 2000 where our vibes and minds were on the same level. It was at Iris’ cotillion where we ignited that flame of our quick-to-start transition into close friends, to best friends to lovebirds.

It was in 2000 where we began to learn how our attitudes and personalities complimented each other. Until this day, we still discover new and different ways of how we compliment each other. Like butter to toast, jam to a muffin, Ernie and Bert, Jigga and Beyonce, peanut butter to a burger, cheese to wine… we’re the perfect compliments. We’re weird. Together we’re weirder. We’re funny. Together we’re a fucking riot. We’re smart. Together we’re clever. We’re a fucking power couple. We’re Charles and Ray Eames in the game of life. I can’t live without her and she can’t live without me. We magnify each other’s better halves. We’re funny as hell together.

When we fight. The world feels it. When we’re on our happy-go-lucky streak, it’s good vibes galore. Our dynamic is unique and I couldn’t do it with anybody else (besides June, duh!)

I’m a glass of wine into this blog; I’m thousands of feet above the ocean and I have my best friend fast asleep next to me and I’m just flowing this steam of conscience into this here laptop and I can’t express how thankful and how in love I am with this kid. She’s seriously the raddest thing alive.
