I have about 4 more designs to update on my portfolio site but I did manage to get 2 new pieces up there from this past summer. Visit upstairsloft.com in the Print section. I will add a package design piece, my last gallery exhibit piece at Sac State, a CES 2008 invite and a magazine ad concept. Some fresh designs to keep my site alive. Ha.

Upstairsloft Portfolio Updated
Friday, December 14th, 2007Ahhh The Convenience
Sunday, December 9th, 2007It’s 1:22AM and Kate, Paul and I just got back from some Asian fusion food/bar just half a block away, called Rohan. Kate and Paul are pretty high off a good buzz and mine is creeping in and all I got to say is how awesome and convenient it is to live in SF, better yet, half a block away. This beats commuting, driving, traveling. Ahhh. I can’t believe I plan on living here for the rest of my life, yo.
We had some badass sushi. Walked back to the apartment. Watched Sister Act 2. Walked to a bar. Met with a friend. Drank. Got buzzed. Walked back to the apartment. In just 8 hours, we are hitting up some $3 dim sum joint. I love this.
In Milpitas on a Tuesday
Wednesday, December 5th, 2007At the moment, Kate and I are in Milpitas. We missed home that much. Well, yes and no. We are still paying for darkroom time for our photo class and we are taking advantage of that for the next 2 weeks. Until then, we will be driving to Milpitas on Tuesdays and driving back to SF before work on Wednesdays. It’s tiring as hell but it’s only for two more weeks.
It’s been Friday since I last slept in my room and already I feel so out of touch with everything. I know much of it has to do with having a shit load of work to do and I am halfway into zombie mode. Why do things like to come in storms? Work is crazy. I am moving. It’s holiday season. Times are busy.
I miss home like crazy but San Francisco is just so awesome. I wish I weren’t so busy to experience all the great things around us. Seriously, if Kate and I walk within .3 miles of our place, there are at least three 4-start sushi joints to eat at (according to Yelp).
We have a lot of DIYs to commit ourselves to to give our place, yes our place, a personal touch. We still need our flatware, electronic appliances and all of that stuff to move from Sac to San Francisco. Having shit spread out in three different places is tiring. Our silkscreen stuff is still in our lockers from the spring semester. I hope they don’t throw that stuff out. It always takes a while to settle into a new place and it’s a bit distressing to constantly worry about your car but that’s the trade-off of having that option. True, we can live off just taking public transportation but in SF, it’s still practical to drive to some places. It’s not an island.
Reporting in from SF
Saturday, December 1st, 2007I love my parents. I love my parents. I love my parents. I love the new SF place, too. In case you didn’t know, I never saw the place. Crazy. I know. But if you know Kate, or catch up on how she cleverly puts her life on blast (through the form of her blog) then you know she’s got taste and her head’s on straight. This place is cozy and awesome as hell. We are on 2nd Avenue, just 1.5 blocks down from Clement.
I love my parents. I love this place. I hate parking but that applies to this city in general.
Action Item 1. Get Haircut.
Action Item 2. Move to SF.
Action Item 3. Kate’s company semi-formal. Classssy status.
I love this city. it’s pretty cracked out but I still love it. I just bummed a strong internet signal from another tenant. It’s nerdy, I know, but when I get home, I’m updating my myspace. Ha. San Francisco, son. I’m quitting design and I’m going to be a hardcore MC selling CDs on Powell and recording songs at Hunters Point. Yeee.
