Umm..it’s
2 in the morning…WTF is Jun doing here?! Welcome to Sacramento Jun.
See, Kate and I have lived here since January 1 and Jun has never been
here…if you know him, you know why.

Anyways…it was 11…this fool calls me and says he’s on his way, "How
do I get to your house?" Haha.  This fool is going crazy. He’s just
yelling and playing the guitar real loud, BECAUSE HE CAN! Hahah. We got
to get up at 6. Haha. We’re hella hyper. K bye. Hahaha. Jun is in Sac.
WTF??!?!

Don’t believe?

Go back into
the past and ask me, "Jeff, how many projects (and I mean major
projects) do you have due this week?" I will tell you "Five."  Now,
ask me "How many did you finish?"  I will tell you "Fourive." I’m
almost done with one of them, but YESS!!! I am happy. For the first time
in three days, I am giddy.

Photography portfolio is ready for submission, the process manual, the
notebook and the visual dictionary are all ready. The Digital Design
newsletter is about done, just needs some fine-tuning.

Only one of the five projects is actually due today. I’m turning in 4 of
them. Yep…all because of that country with a million islands. Almost
there Three finals to go.  Swear to God, I almost lost myself
today. Ask Kate. Go.

Soooo..with that said, Tim Hoerl, you rock. Thanks. He lifted a huge ape
off my back. Claire Armstrong rocks too. She printed my Final Semester
Notebook and it turned out great.

Projects: check.

(last entry for 2004)

All the time
I spent with Kate and took her presence for granted is started to catch
up. I want to spend every moment with her as much as possible until I am
ready to puke. The last time Kate and I haven’t seen each other was the
last time I went to Philippines.  But this time it’s worst.
Number 1, our umm "fondness" for each other has exponentially increased
and number 2, I will only see her 2-3 times within Dec. 10 and January
14.

We’re gonna meet up before and during her parents’ silver wedding, as
well as Jun and his family.  Other than that, we’re spending time
away from each other.

———————————————–
The long part of the entry. Don’t bother reading.

I remember December 2001, after Kate
and Jun’s family Xmas party, we left at around 9:30 to catch a flick.
Afterwards we drove around trying to figure out a place to eat.  We
ended up eating Jack-in-the-Box while parked in a vast, empty parking
lot.  We had those kind of enlightening conversations for a few
hours…you know, the type best friends have.

My parents were already in Philippines and my auntie and I left the day
after.  Anyhow, Jun or me put that Jack antenna ball on my mom’s
SUV.  It’s been on that SUV since then until my parents recently
bought a new SUV.  I smirked when I saw that the ball was still on
top of the big red toolbox in the garage after arriving home from
Frisco.  On the way to school when Jun, Kate and I had class
together, Jun would stick his head out of the window and ask "Jack! Are
you cold jack!?"  He would have yelling conversations with Jack
while people on the road looked at him as if he were crazy.

Then there was Kate in the back seat, either laughing or not responding
at all, engaged in her own world.  Yeah, that’s Kate, entirely used
to Jun and me.  You’ll even see it at school.  Sara, from
schoo, would say," That is so funny.  Jeff is up there being weird
and you’re just like ‘ehh…I’m used to it."  But all the time used
together is going to bite me in the ass.

———————————————–
It’s a sad transition.  I only saw Jun on the weekends and even
those are going to slim down.  I’m not going home every weekend
when my 2nd sem. at state begins.   Kate and I have been
driving home since March.  Yes, we drove home EVERY SINGLE weekend
since March and we continue to.

As for Kate, I will miss every stupid little thing and cool thing she
does, from her stupid little comments that come outta nowhere.  I
swear, it’ll be quiet for 20 minutes then she starts talking about
mules.  I guess he was having a conversation in her head about
mules.  I’ll miss her annoying the hell out of me when I am in my
little zone, doing homework or something.  I am a very emotional
and nostalgic guy, though it comes out of my exterior like I don’t
really give a damn.  I mean, I’m not flamboyant with my emotions
but ehhh.. I dunno.  I’ll miss the crazy ass people I call Best
Friends.  That goes for Kaye, Paul and Jay too.

I depart Friday and I wish you a Merry Christmas.  I’ll be back
before the New Year.

—————————————-

A few weeks
back my parents offered Kate and me to stay with them at a hotel in San
Francisco while they attend a ball.  Kate has this shindig going on
with her girls and I am going to stay in the hotel and just finish up
whatever is due within my 4 days left of school (I leave for Philippines
on Friday, thus taking the finals early).

Anyways, the view is cool; the Transamerica is half hidden from the
surrounding buildings but it’s about 4 blocks away. It reminds me of why
I want to live here during my professional career.  I am surrounded
by design, towering buildings, diverse people, diverse environments,
nice places, ghetto places and history.  The sound of honking horns
and distant yelling is actually soothing; it’s because it’s normal.
I’m just another face in the crowd.

I have my books, my sketches, my notes, and roughs for projects.
Then I got my cameras.  So far I’ve taken a few pictures.  I
haven’t taken a walk outside.  But I plan on going to MOMA (mus. of
modern art) after I drop off Kate to her friend’s house.

I hardly pass up an opportunity to visit the city; as long as time
permits.  3rd time in 7 days. Well..hopefully I can take more pics
later; it’s getting dark so early.

If I had it
my way I would tell all the children to pray for my Uncle Noli’s life
that way God would be overwhelmed with all the innocent voices asking to
save a life.  That goes for Jun’s grandma and all the other loved
ones dying of sickness.  But for now, doubting that children read
this blog, I ask you to pray for my Uncle Noli, Jun’s grandma and all
your loved ones.  Sorry for the mush.  But please pray.

I am
designing my final notebook which includes all the projects I completed
in my graphic design studies class and I was playing with type. Then I
began to wonder what exactly needs to be on the cover so I researched
the parameters.  Then I ran to Kate and told her, "Kate!  The
cover has to be a typographic solution!"  She said "Yeah.
Sara’s teacher told that to her class and everybody was like ‘whaatt?
how?’".

Yes!!! It’s my time to shine!  When the teachers flip through my
notebook during portfolio review next semester, I should stand out a
little.  CCA students would laugh at me and rape me with type play
but, I’m not sure if CSUS students have a strong grasp on type.  I
think that’s where my advantage is.

The saddest
kid in the world when you know that Jeffrey Tanhueco doesn’t have Spider
Man 2 the day it comes out.  Yep… I do not have Spider Man 2… .
I live in silence.  Kate and I are splitting profits from the lawn
bag full of water bottles we collected (8 stacks of Costco bulk water in
1 lawn bag).  What will I do with that money?  Buy Spider Man
2 at the non-new special DVD release price.

Anyhow, I had a falling out with myself today that I wanted to say to
the world.  What exactly?  Not even Kate knows.  All the
more reason to distance myself from everybody else.  The iPod is my
new best friend.  Yep.  Just like the other digital music
players were.  It’s nobody but me and the music.  It’s grand.
Feel sorry for Kate?  You should.  But reconsider that thought
in 4 years.
